SPACE AGE HEALING

The European press has affectionately nicknamed ENAR ‘the Star Trek Device’ after the hand-held medical device used on the popular science fiction series.

In fact, its technology, developed by a team of Russian doctors and scientists at Sochi University in the late 1970’s, was a product of the space race, when both Eastern and Western governments poured massive funding into developing equipment for the American and Russian space programs.

Due to restricted storage space, astronauts and cosmonauts were unable to carry enough pharmaceuticals to cover every possible malady. Another form of treatment was needed, one that was energy-efficient, portable and non-invasive.

The solution was found in a therapeutic treatment using electrical signals to stimulate the body’s immune system and enhance its healing ability.

The biofeedback device is no larger than a mobile phone, and operates on an ordinary 9-volt battery. It produces long lasting results and helps to heal the body without invasive surgery or toxic drugs.

Ironically, the ENAR was never used in space, but it has become widely used by practitioners throughout Russia.

Victims of cancer, fractures and sports injuries have reported more pain relief from the release of natural opioids stimulated by ENAR treatment than from chemical opioids administered pharmaceutically. The healing time is also markedly reduced.

The Macquarie University in Sydney has just completed a randomized control trial on chronic neck pain and dysfunction. It found that the ENAR device not only gives swift relief from chronic pain and improved function, but coincidentally, improved mental and emotional health at the same time.

Placing the device directly on to the skin, the ENAR collects electromagnetic signals that are modified and sent back to the body. This ‘biofeedback’ feature is what distinguishes it from other electrical therapies that send out a consistent continuous signal to which the body can ‘adapt’ and eventually fail to respond.

Treatment is typically spread over just a few half-hour sessions. The practitioner determines where to apply the device by looking for anomalies on the skin surface indicated by redness, numbness, stickiness or a change of sound from the device. The recipient feels only a gentle tingling or stroking sensation as the unit is stroked over bare skin.

No unwanted side effects have been demonstrated from ENAR treatment. The impulses sent by the device are similar to the body’s own nerve impulses and are quite safe, even for children and pregnant women. The only absolute contraindication is for people with cardiac pacemakers.
