Nutrition for the Brain
Did you know the brain is of the most nutrient rich organs of the body?
Any health issue can be addressed from several fronts: emotional, spiritual, chemical or energetic. One of the ways to nourish the brain is through the input of high frequency sounds. This discovery, made by the French ear Doctor Alfred Tomatis, enables us to provide the body with energising input simply by listening to the right sort of music. Sound Therapy is energy medicine. It serves to stimulate and activate our cells by increasing their energy potential and electrical charge. This is a subtle but powerful means of intervention, which can sometimes produce astounding results by working at a cellular level.
We forget how important our ears are and that their malfunction can seriously impair life. By nourishing the ears you are nourishing your nervous system, your brain, your head and neck muscles, all your primary sensory organs, and therefore your ability to receive and communicate with others.
It is also vitally important to use good, appropriate nutrition when undertaking Sound Therapy listening.
The stimulation brought about by the music requires the ear to begin functioning at a much higher level of muscular and vibratory activity than previously.
Unless extra nutrition is provided at the same time, the ear is struggling to suddenly improve its performance. Athletes require more concentrated nutrition. Sound Therapy listeners, like classical musicians and singers, become athletes of the ear!
Every cell in the body interacts both on the energy (or electrical) level, and with the chemical system. Sensory transmissions from the ear to the brain depend on incredibly complex chemical reactions. There are over 100,000 mitochondria in each cell of the body. For the required energy reactions to occur, a sequence of enzymes must pass electrons down from one mitochondrium to the next. This assembly line is called the electron transport chain or ETC.
The delicate balance of this system can be upset by:
• insufficient oxygen due to poor circulation in the inner ear
• a deficiency in the trace minerals essential for enzyme activity
• a toxic overload being carried by the body, or
• excessive free radical activity.
To ensure biochemical support for this process, certain nutrients are needed in large supply.
Which nutrients best support the ear and brain?
Colloidal minerals
The essential neurochemical transmissions between the ear and brain require micro minerals to function properly. Unlike other mineral supplements, colloidal minerals are in the tiniest molecular size, and come in a liquid form that is highly absorbable by the body. To fully meet the body’s mineral requirements, we need at least sixty trace minerals. To be easily absorbed by the body these minerals should be in a colloidal (liquid) form with fulvic acid.
Colloidal minerals are the essential building blocks of our body. The body cannot function in the long term to repair tissue, fight disease and absorb other nutrients unless the needed minerals are supplied.
You cannot remain healthy if you are deficient in any of the trace minerals. In today’s polluted world the body has many toxins to deal with and trace minerals are essential to protect you from all these dangerous chemicals.
Antioxidants
Today we need high levels of antioxidants because our exposure to thousands of toxic chemicals that didn’t even exist two or three decades ago is causing an unprecedented rise in cancer and other toxin related conditions.
The result is free radical damage in the body and particularly the ear, so the body is constantly trying to repair this damage. To effect this repair, very high levels of anti oxidants are essential. Great advances have been made in antioxidant extraction since the days when the British navy carried limes to prevent sailors from getting scurvy. First generation antioxidants are the vitamins A, C and E. More recent discoveries of the much more powerful second generation antioxidants include pine bark and grape seed extract, but the most powerful kind are third generation anti oxidants (curcuminoids).
The latter are so powerful they can last for three days in the body, providing constant protection against free radicals, unlike vitamin C, which is flushed out in a few hours. To fight all the pollutants and stresses today it is important to use a well formulated, broad spectrum anti-oxidant with all three generations.
