Improve your Energy Flow
Your body consists of energy, in various natural forms. Whilst traditional eastern philosophies have embraced the complex synergy of energies within our body, western medicine still seeks more ‘scientific evidence’. The good news is that whilst you patiently wait for science to evolve, there are many ways in which you can immediately improve your energy flow. By practicing the techniques below, you can fine-tune your energy flow and improve your health and vitality as a consequence.
Techniques to Optimise Your Internal Energy Flow
Nervous System. Flow of energy around the nervous system requires particular chemical exchanges within the body. However some chemicals like LSD, MDMA, THC, Caffeine, Nicotine, and MSG (621) alter this chemical balance in the body, and can negatively impede your energy flow in the long term. The body requires the correct input of specific chemical building blocks in order to synthesize compounds in correct proportions for optimal functionality. As a car engine will seize without oil, so your body will seize up without correct nutrition. Learn what is best to put into your body ‘engine’ to give it peak energy performance. By providing your body with the nutrients it needs, so you will feel your energy flow ‘tune’ up.
Thoughts and visualisations. As discussed in a previous article, visualisation therapy is a powerful technique to benefit your health, and many other aspects of your life. By practicing the technique of visualising your goals manifesting, you can break free of any unconscious sabotage patterns that prevent you from moving forward. Visualise your desired outcome manifesting as your reality, and the effect on your energy flow will be proportional to the power of your thoughts.
People. Beware of negative people that find fault with you, or appear to make you feel unworthy, as your energy flow is susceptible to their focus. Although no-one can actually make you feel anything you don’t already want to feel, others energy can magnify what may be an underlying unconscious current within you. Instead, surround yourself with positive people, as they will have an uplifting effect on your energy levels, as you feel supported to greater heights by their influence. Inspirational others can assist mentor you to be the best you can be. They will complement your strengths, nurture your weaknesses, applaud your leaps, and hold your hand if you stumble. Awareness of the effect of others energies on your energy flow helps you make good choices as you go on your journey through light and shade.
Situations. As with people, negative situations also constrict your natural energy flow. Some say negative events manifest as lessons, however the sooner you can move to a positive state, the healthier you will be. The more negative the situation, the more urgent it is for you to evolve beyond it. If you seek inspiration to change, perhaps consider mentors such as Nelson Mandela or Albert Einstein. Both were once confined by negative situations, however overcame them to great effect. By the same token, release yourself from any performance expectations and behaviours others (or yourself) place on you, and give yourself permission to feel free to enjoy what you already have, and love. The effect on your energy flow can be life-changing!
Water. Simple water is essential for energy flow, as without it your vital energy would die away in just a few days. Your body is about 70% water, and constant water flow is essential to remove waste products, and without flowing water to cleanse the system you become blocked and burdened with toxins that create sluggishness. Most therapists recommend about two litres per day in liquid or juice form to maintain electrolyte balance, however more is required if sweating under certain conditions. A general rule of thumb is to drink at least 30ml of water per kilogram of body weight per day. Source your daily supply of good water from a quality supplier, running creek or rainwater. Be aware that what may look like perfect water could in fact have lots of nasty bacteria, viruses and chemicals swimming around in it. Maintaining constant water flow in your body is essential for your optimum energy flow.
Sunlight. Your body needs a certain amount of sunlight to maintain its health. Sunlight regulates the body clock, enables the body to manufacture essential Vitamin D, and its light and warmth naturally makes you feel good. Obviously, exposure to strong sunlight can burn the skin, so most practitioners recommend about 20 minutes of sunlight per day on a good proportion of your body. If your lifestyle has you in the sun for longer, then a good hat and shirt limit UV exposure more naturally than any chemical ‘sun-screen’. Enjoy your daily dose of sunlight, and feel its effect in improving your energy.
Colour, Music & Smell. Bright vibrant colours can help invigorate you, whilst dark dismal ones can flatten your mood and energy. Contrast between colours heightens effects, however more than three colours at once introduces a risk of colour clash, and tension. Similar to the 7 colours of the rainbow are the 7 notes of the musical scale. The notes can also be combined like colour to instigate a profound effect on your energy, through your ears rather than eyes. Smell is another of the five senses, and although not apparently structured like colour or music, can trigger amazing energy effects. Essential oils of certain plants have therapeutic properties, and we are all familiar with the powers of culinary delights. Some cultures are renowned for their traditional colours, sounds and flavours and they are globally yours to wholesomely appreciate. You body will seek to absorb the vibrations it needs as it needs them, to balance your energies.
Change. Change is constantly present in this universe, and it can be accelerated through force. Everything is dynamic, from the atoms on this page to the milky-way galaxy. Accepting change as a natural part of your energy flow frees you to evolve. Like the tide, sometimes your energy will be high, sometimes low, and your performance will vary accordingly. Professional athletes are most aware of this nature, as they need to be at peak energy on the day of the race, not the day before or after. Your challenge is to optimise your energy flow, so that your energy peaks at the times when ‘racing to win’, and is low when you can relax in recovery. Different people have different energy rhythms, and getting in tune with your own flow is just a part of getting to know yourself. Some people will experience their peak energy in the morning, and others in the evening. Tyring to force yourself to change into a different energy flow will compromise your inner comfort and harmony. Tune into your preferred energy flow and honour that flow to optimise your life.
Being Centred. By being centred within, external energies have less effect. Like a stable boat, any waves that do crash over your bow just wash away. Meditation is a technique to nurture a core of calmness within you, and whilst there are many methods professing to assist, ultimately they all take you to the same place. In that place you are still in mind and body, yet consciously aware of the events going on in both external and internal landscapes. You can try synchronising your internal pulses and breathing with the earth’s rotating orbit around our sun, or just enjoy the sensations of drifting off to sleep. The main rule to being centred is to enjoy discovering your own way to be in your centre. How you enjoy this quiet time for yourself is your choice. Whatever meditation method you choose, it is, like all the techniques listed above, another way to assist you in your journey to improving your energy flow!
